The Fundamentals of a Fulfilled Life

A programme to foster a new class of world leaders

An inspiring interdisciplinary week in the heart of Italian Renaissance

An immersion in the complexity of today's world

‘O You Who’ve gone on Pilgrimage

Come, Come, Whoever You Are, Come

Ours is not a caravan of despair.

Ours is a Journey of Hope

What You Seek Is Seeking You’ ~ Rumi

Since 1985, the Cortona Week has amassed a substantial body of work on the secrets of living a fulfilled life - a life of meaning and purpose, celebrating the values that make us human.

This year’s Conference, the Cortona Week 2020, is an exclusive opportunity to master the fundamentals of a fulfilled life over a week long gathering. It’s also a uniquely social experience; bringing together critical thinkers, seekers of wisdom, from different corners of the globe to meet, share perspectives, and build lasting bonds.

We work together in round table discussions, lectures and experiential workshops, where the participants can, for instance, paint, do sculpture or music, meditation, poetry, yoga, theatre, dance and more.

The aim, with the help of world-renowned professionals and visionaries, is to open up the horizon of the participants to the values of intergenerational dialogue, education, ecology, ethics, tolerance, friendship, kindness, as well as the actual new frontiers of science, literature, art, economics — the full display of human experience — where life becomes a system view of interacting parts, and not an addition of single isolated domains.

Cortona Week- The Location

The beautiful city of  Cortona- The Land of Legends- 70 miles southeast of Florence, is a  slice of Tuscan loveliness. It lies in the mountains between the Valdichiana and Tevere valley. Cortona was a very important center of Etruscan civilization, and these ancient settlements remain at the core of the city’s identity. Two kilometers of the Etruscan walls, which date to the 5th century BCE, are still standing today.

The historical center started to take its modern form in the 13th century, with the foundation of the Palazzo Comunale, the town hall, in 1241, the Church of San Francesco in 1245 and the Palazzo del Popolo in 1250.

Conference venue: Hotel Oasi Neumann

A few meters from Cortona Etruscan walls, in a wonderful and unique elite place, it is located the ancient monastery of S. Maria alle Contesse, today the restored Hotel Oasi Neumann. The history of this place started in 1225 and lasted for over seven centuries.

The hotel is an ideal place for those who wish to spend a holiday full of art, culture and mysticism and those who love to enjoy a peaceful and quiet stay. The Hotel Oasi Neumann is a renowned conference venue, in a recommended tourist destination full of history and mysticism.

Here We Come to Cortona In Search of the Light to Build a Better World

At Cortona we will continue our journey of Hope. A journey which  is about many things. It is about challenging the norm. It is about volunteerism and service. It is about serving our communities, our world, and caring for our planet, our home. It is about finding out more about ourselves than we ever imagined possible. It is about having a dream. It is about a mission and our vocation in life. It is about believing in our journey and stories.

‘It is hope that can give meaning to life and which will give us the courage to continue on our way into the future together.’

And this is why Cortona-Week 2020, similar to previous gatherings, offers a journey of hope to all those dreaming for a better world, a world of wisdom and beauty, peace and justice, fairness and kindness, trust and ethics, caring for our Sacred Earth and Mother Nature.

GCGI is proud to cooperate closely with Cortana-Week. It is thus, my pleasure to ask all our friends to consider joining us at this most inspiring event. Let us march together, taking action in the interest of the common good, to design and construct a better world that we are all yearning for. See Registration Details Here

So there you have it. Going to Cortona with the hope of co-creating a better world together. Hope to see you there.
